Primera etapa. Presentar una prueba diagnóstica de conocimiento del inglés en línea para conocer su nivel de dominio del idioma, realizada por la UNAM. La Dirección general de Acreditación, Incorporación y Revalidación (DGAIR) de la SEPemitirá una constancia del Certificado Nacional de Nivel de Idioma (CENNI) que acredite sus conocimientos &lt;strong&gt;(Document from Subsecretaría de Educación Básica).&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;- Etapas del Programa. Segunda etapa. De conformidad con el nivel obtenido en la evaluación diagnóstica, los docentes podrán aplicar a alguna de las siguientes alternativas de formación y/o certificación, bajo un proyecto de colaboración entre la Subsecretaría de Educación Básica y la UNAM.&lt;br /&gt;   a) Examen de dominio de inglés para aquellos que acrediten niveles avanzados del idioma con el fin de obtenet una certificación de alto nivel emitida por la UNAM y por la DGAIR.&lt;br /&gt;   b) Estancias en el extranjero en las Escuelas de Extensión de la UNAM ubicadas en Estados Unidos y Canadá para aquellos maestros y maestras que cuenten con niveles avanzados del idioma, pero que requieran un curso de perfeccionamiento.&lt;br /&gt;   c) Opciones de formación nacional a través de estancias, licenciaturas y cursos para mejorar el dominio del idioma inglés en modalidades presencial y a distancia.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;strong&gt;(Document from Subsecretaría de Educación Básica).&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;- La prueba diagnóstica se llevará a cabo en línea utilizando la infraestructura de los Centros de Maestros &lt;strong&gt;(Document from Subsecretaría de Educación Básica).&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;- El portal de internet donde se alojará la prueba diagnóstica comenzará a funcionar del 18 de noviembre al 5 de diciembre del presente año, en horario de 9:00 a 18:00 horas (horario de la ciudad de México) &lt;strong&gt;(Document from Subsecretaría de Educación Básica).&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;- Se impartirán cursos de capacitación a todos los docentes de acuerdo con el resultado de su diagnóstico. la capacitación se otorgará en una modalidad nacional y en otra internacional &lt;strong&gt;(Convocatoria from Dirección General de Formación Continua de Maestros en Servicios from SEP).&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;- A la modalidad internacional podrán participar los docentes que obtengan al menos un puntaje de B2 (intermedio-avanzado) en la prueba diagnóstica. Students and teachers in that school got a lot of fun with this project, and also worked in cross curricular tasks.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;strong&gt;&lt;em&gt;Information about the Project:&lt;/em&gt;&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Length.&lt;/strong&gt; They worked in the project for three weeks, from October 27th to November 14th.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Organization.&lt;/strong&gt; They came to an agreement in Academies, English, Mathematics, and Science. They prepared different tasks (duration of the project, responsibilities, dates, how to evaluate the project, etc).&lt;br /&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Expansion.&lt;/strong&gt; Students looked for information about balloons -construction, materials, etc. - in different sources, such as magazines, text books, encyclopedias, and Internet. They prepared mock-ups in order to present the information. Picture number 1 shows how students formed numbers with different color sheets.&lt;br /&gt;Second graders performed presentations and role plays in which they introduced and described widely known people. We met Rey Misterio, Mohamed Ali, and also different bands. Pictures 2 and 4 show these activities.&lt;br /&gt;Thrid graders sang a nice-warm-sweet song. There was the typical big-balloon floating above people with slam included. There is no picture about it but we have a video tape not included in this post for technical reasons only. I promise to post videos on YouTube soon.&lt;br /&gt;The most important thing I could saw was the collaboration among teachers. This proved things can work if we collaborate each other. A seven groups of French, German, and Japanese students, all of them applying drills with Rassias' Method. I observed a French spoken class where learners followed each one the paradigm of drills in the Method. Once again it brought snaping and visual contact between teacher and students out to me. My first experience with the Method… We tried, failed, received feedback, and tried again and again before anyone makes a judgment of our work. Definitely it was a very constructive experience. He contact you face-to-face, eye-to-eye, heart-to-heart, soul-to-soul.&lt;br /&gt;During the Workshop we felt we could learn. This principle of the Method facilitated a most deeply learning process. “Juanmoretime” pushed all parts of our bodies to participate in the act of communication. We could feel passion, commitment, emotion, and love. Just 40 Mexican teachers from around all the country, the original list was more than 120. Good and God, I was selected!&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Dartmouth College was waiting for us... Ideas for Literacy and Language Teachers' by John W. Oller, Jr. from the University of New Mexico. The following ideas were taken from that article:&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;p&gt;- Acting and life are inseparable from effective teaching.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;- All the world is a stage, every classroom is a theater and every teacher is an actor.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;- Drama is a tool for a more effective teaching.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;- The students have to got to be made stretch their powers, their capacities. Isn't that what teaching's all about?&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;- Sometimes in Rassias Method all mistakes are inmmediatly rightes, and the student must repeat it correctly. Aceptable responses are reinforced with embraces, pats, clucking noises, and smiles.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;- The teacher must make eye-to-eye contact with his students.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;- The most effective technique is to put students into real, living situations.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;- Stress the importance of drama and emotions in teaching: "If you get the students involved and make them do what you want them to, they'll never forget what you teach them".&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;- John Rassias fused the essence of acting-the ability to touch an audience-and the essence of teaching.communication.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;- John Rassias belives that, for both actors and teachers, the best way to be effective is to keep the audience's, or the students' attention. He does so by using surprise and spontaneity.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;- John Rassias also belives that "there is no such thing as a bad student. There are only bad teachers. And they're bad because they don't care enough. They don't put enough energy into it, they don't show respect for their students, and they don't prepare their lessons".&lt;/p&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;span style="font-size:180%;color:#663366;"&gt;Tuesday 8 July, 2008.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;span style="color:#663366;"&gt;During the trip from NY City to Hanover, NH, we watched video “Rassias in China”. It caught my attention whit the idea of language energy. Because language is energy we teachers must let that power to emerge in the classroom.&lt;br /&gt;It was very interesting to see how drama techniques make people produce language, and those words from John Rassias “the only thing between teacher and students must be love, must be air”. En ellas, directivos y equipos de supervisión de Telesecundarias, Secundarias Técnicas y Secundarias Generales se dan cita para reflexionar sobre los avances en los procesos de gestión.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;div&gt;El pasado 10 de marzo de 2008 fui asignado para coordinar un grupo en esta RRI, que tuvo por sede el Hotel Holiday Inn Toreo-Naucalpan. El pretexto de la reunión fue discutir y reflexionar sobre una de las metodologías priorizadas en el Plan de Estudios 2006 para secundaria: El trabajo por proyectos.&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;Con apoyo de los colegas se conformó una Agenda de Trabajo que nos llevó de la mano para vivenciar el desarrollo de esta metodología, así, en una sesión de seis horas pudimos llevar a cabo la investigación, la presentación de propuestas de solución y la elaboración de productos de trabajo. El nombre de nuestro proyecto fue "Que se acaben los gordos". Fundamentalmente se revisaron contenidos programáticos de la asignatura de Ciencias 1, bloque 2, cuyo tema "la importancia de la nutrición para la vida y la salud" nos condujo por actividades no sólo académicas, sino lúdicas.&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;Partimos del reconocimiento de una problemática: "1200 millones de personas en el planeta padecen de &lt;a href="http://www.monografias.com/trabajos15/obesidad/obesidad.shtml"&gt;obesidad &lt;/a&gt;que con el tiempo tiene graves secuelas en la salud. Cuando está entre 25 y 30 puede existir sobrepeso; si es mayor de 30 se considera obesidad y si por el contrario, es menor de 20, se habla de bajo peso.&lt;br /&gt;Índice de masa corporal calculado por la fórmula (IMC)=peso (kg)/ [Talla en mts]2&lt;br /&gt;El problema de obesidad infantil le provoca al niño inseguridad, baja autoestima, discriminación escolar, discriminación social,&lt;a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_3vK74Tb7qnQ/R9UQxMnXHQI/AAAAAAAAAFw/g-tLwyo2r8s/s1600-h/nino+gordo.jpg"&gt;&lt;/a&gt; fatiga fácil, probable hipertensión, hipercolesterolemía, estrías, etc.&lt;br /&gt;La obesidad en los niños y adolescentes provoca problemas de orden psíquico: familiares, censura de los hermanos y amigos, rechazo por los compañeros de clase, pobre desempeño en actividades deportivas.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;div align="justify"&gt;En fin... Espero que el modesto pensamiento expresado aquí, sirva para detonar la discusión en torno al "pasado del futuro inminente" que vivimos en la educación.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;span style="color:#666666;"&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="color:#666666;"&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Introducción&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="color:#666666;"&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="color:#666666;"&gt;Es cierto: la escuela no ha cambiado significativamente desde sus inicios, según aprecia Seymour Papert (1995). En ella se mantienen más o menos los mismos esquemas, las mismas formas de organización, las mismas jerarquías; se utilizan más o menos los mismos recursos, se siguen más o menos los mismos rituales: alguien transmite información, alguien la recibe, el primero califica la manera en que el segundo “aprende”.&lt;br /&gt;Ante tal situación, Papert (1995, p. 1) nos cuestiona: “¿por qué, en un período durante el cual hemos vivido la revolución de muchas áreas de nuestra actividad, no hemos presenciado un cambio comparable en la manera en que ayudamos a nuestros niños a aprender?” Pregunta que nos lleva, irremisiblemente, a la reflexión sobre nuestro hacer profesional como educadores y a aventurarnos a suponer que es posible replantear la educación a partir de la inserción de las nuevas tecnologías a las prácticas educacionales en las escuelas.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;span style="color:#666666;"&gt;&lt;img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5173074467045303890" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; CURSOR: hand; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_3vK74Tb7qnQ/R8pz0dTg5lI/AAAAAAAAAE0/bQtc3Nbt5Q4/s200/seymour.gif" border="0" /&gt;&lt;span style="font-family:arial;font-size:78%;color:#006600;"&gt;Para la elaboración del presente trabajo, la figura de &lt;a href="http://www.papert.org/"&gt;Seymourt Papert&lt;/a&gt; fue un referente fundamental. Aquí aparece expresando su personalidad intelectual.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div align="justify"&gt;&lt;span style="color:#666666;"&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Tecnología, educación y prácticas pedagógicas&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Si reconocemos el supuesto de que el uso de las nuevas tecnologías permite el replanteamiento de la educación y las prácticas pedagógicas, es necesario referirnos a la relación que se establece con lo que se podría definir como innovación educativa. Enseñar y aprender apoyados con el empleo de estas tecnologías, implica el diseño, ejecución y evaluación de actividades, de manera distinta a la que se tiene en una escuela y unas prácticas tradicionales; así lo aprecia García-Valcárcel (2008): “si las nuevas tecnologías crean nuevos lenguajes y formas de representación, y permiten crear nuevos escenarios de aprendizaje, las instituciones educativas no pueden permanecer al margen, han de conocer y utilizar estos nuevos lenguajes y formas de comunicación”.&lt;br /&gt;Una cuestión importante vinculada al uso de la tecnología en la escuela se refiere al tipo de relación que se establece con ella; es decir, cómo el alumno y el maestro la usan. Hemos de reconocer que dicho vínculo tiene un carácter muy diferente al que se establece con los recursos empleados en la escuela tradicional; el vínculo, aquí, tiene un carácter más flexible, lúdico, creativo, no prescriptivo; salvo los procedimientos de carácter técnico que algunas herramientas tecnológicas requieren para su empleo.&lt;br /&gt;Toda herramienta tecnológica posee una serie de estructuras que le permiten funcionar. Estas estructuras preestablecidas llevan a sus usuarios a evaluar ideas a fin de trabajar con ellas. Por otro lado, las modernas herramientas tecnológicas permiten aprender en espacios reducidos en lapsos cortos de tiempo, ofreciendo oportunidades para elaborar realidades paralelas a la que proporciona la realidad.&lt;br /&gt;Diversos estudios confirman que la inserción de la tecnología a los procesos educacionales podrían transformar significativamente las prácticas de la enseñanza y el aprendizaje (Goldberg y otros, 2003; Papert, 1995, 1999; Pausch, 2004; Zabalza, 2000; y muchos otros más). Al respecto, Papert es categórico al referirse al empleo de las nuevas tecnologías: “permitirán altos grados de alfabetización en los estudiantes independientemente de los progresos que hagan hacia la letradura”&lt;a title="" style="mso-footnote-id: ftn1" href="http://www.blogger.com/post-create.g?blogID=3688282768244390658#_ftn1" name="_ftnref1"&gt;[1]&lt;/a&gt;.&lt;br /&gt;Por ejemplo, en un estudio sobre los efectos que la computadora tiene en la lectoescritura, Goldberg y otros (2003) encontraron que el empleo de los procesadores de texto tiene efectos sobre la magnitud de los escritos, su orden y disminuye la cantidad de errores de redacción, en comparación con los escritos hechos en papel y lápiz. Por su parte, Bangert-Drowns (1993, citado por Goldberg, 2003) encontró que el empleo de los procesadores de texto contribuye en una “modesta aunque consistente” mejoría en la calidad de los escritos.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Transformación de esquemas a partir del uso de la tecnología&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/strong&gt;Ya hemos mencionado que la inserción de la tecnología tiende a modificar las prácticas pedagógicas: cómo se relacionan los agentes educativos con ella (enseñantes y aprendices) cómo se establecen vínculos entre ellos, cómo se organizan las actividades en la escuela, cómo se organiza el tiempo dedicado al aprendizaje, etc. Sin embargo, a mi parecer, lo más significativo del hecho es cómo repercute la inserción de las nuevas tecnologías en los tipos y modos de estructuración del pensamiento de los agentes que emplean recursos y materiales electrónicos.&lt;br /&gt;Para García-Valcárcel (2008), “el uso de hipertextos, multimedias, de discos o de webs no significa automáticamente un aumento de calidad pedagógica de la enseñanza, sólo significa incremento de la multiplicidad de medios y de oferta de nuevas formas de organización y representación de la información”. La tarea para hacer provechosa la experiencia vivida a partir de la incorporación de nuevos ambientes para el aprendizaje, es de naturaleza eminentemente pedagógica; es decir, se hace necesario pensar “qué” y “para qué” incorporar nuevas herramientas para el aprendizaje y la enseñanza: Replantear la educación a partir de nuevas concepciones de la enseñanza, nuevas ideas sobre el aprendizaje y nuevas perspectivas sobre el diseño de las actividades didácticas y los proyectos educativos en las escuelas.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;strong&gt;El papel de los maestros en los nuevos escenarios educativos&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;br /&gt;El reto principal para los maestros será el de cerrar la brecha entre dos mundos: el del aprendizaje y el del trabajo. En estos nuevos escenarios, el principal rol del los maestros será direccionar “el camino del aprendizaje de manera más eficiente y motivadora” (Federación Americana para el Aprendizaje, 2003); el diseño instruccional deberá moverse “de conceptos a sistemas operativos” (Ibidem); el uso de diversas herramientas de enseñanza y aprendizaje obligarán a un “ajuste permanente del ritmo, naturaleza y estilo del proceso de aprendizaje” (Ibidem).&lt;br /&gt;Reconocer que las nuevas tecnologías cambian la estructura epistemológica de las personas, debe llevarnos a reconocer que nos podemos seguir empeñándonos en ser la principal fuente del aprendizaje para los alumnos. La tecnología está ahí, siendo usada por nuestros alumnos. De nosotros depende que la aprovechemos y la incorporemos a los ambientes de aprendizaje formal. Creo que nos equivocamos si no hacemos pronto uso de ella; a fin de cuenta “ellos” ya la están usando.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Conclusiones&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/strong&gt;¿Es posible hablar del replanteamiento de la educación a partir de la inserción de nuevas tecnologías? Sí, siempre y cuando éstas sean concebidas como herramientas para la tarea docente y para el aprendizaje de los alumnos. Los cambios producidos por esta incorporación, tendrán que ser considerados para reestructurar los roles que tradicionalmente se han dado a maestros y alumnos, a la escuela, a los contenidos de aprendizaje, a la organización de las actividades, a los proyectos educativos, etc.&lt;br /&gt;Las nuevas tecnologías (llámense TICs) posibilitan a la escuela el replanteamiento de las actividades de enseñanza y de aprendizaje. Sobre todo porque éstas tienden a modificar las formas de pensar, aprender y enseñar; lo que conlleva a la necesaria obligación de ver las cosas de otra manera.&lt;br /&gt;Los retos están planteados. Ahora surgen otras interrogantes: ¿Cómo hacer uso de ellas? ¿Cómo monitorear los avances del aprendizaje a partir del empleo de nuevas tecnologías? ¿Cómo facilitar la reestructuración epistemológica a partir de la incorporación de herramientas tecnológicas en el aprendizaje?&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Referencias&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/strong&gt;Chen, M. &amp;amp; S. Matthiesen (2004) suggests six strategies to improve TOEFL vocabulary:&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;strong&gt;&lt;em&gt;Read a lot&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/em&gt;&lt;/strong&gt;The best way to build vocabulary is through reading. Read authentic English language materials, as newspapers, college text-books, encyclopedia articles, magazines, and academic books.&lt;br /&gt;Nowadays you can find all these kind of authentic texts and more in the Web.&lt;br /&gt;Matthiesen suggests to pay attention to new groups of words, expressions, and phrases we encounter in our reading and also to take advantage of resources as native speakers to learn their meanings.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;strong&gt;&lt;em&gt;Make flash cards&lt;/em&gt;&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Make small cards made of thick papers such as they can be fit in pockets. Matthiesen suggests writing the new word or group of words on one side of the card and on the other side to write synonyms. For example, “run a risk” and “take a chance” are similar in meaning: they are synonyms. In this case the ability to use new words is not as important as the ability to recognize new words and their meanings.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;strong&gt;&lt;em&gt;&lt;a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_3vK74Tb7qnQ/Rhal9t3w2NI/AAAAAAAAACc/fFgwD8C7MEM/s1600-h/DSCN1260.JPG"&gt;&lt;img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5050406511846676690" style="FLOAT: left; MARGIN: 0px 10px 10px 0px; CURSOR: hand" alt="" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_3vK74Tb7qnQ/Rhal9t3w2NI/AAAAAAAAACc/fFgwD8C7MEM/s200/DSCN1260.JPG" border="0" /&gt;&lt;/a&gt;Make word lists&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/em&gt;&lt;/strong&gt;It can be use a small notebook for this purpose. While reading when you discover a new word, add it to a list of words to be learned. To the right of the list, write synonyms for the new words. Matthiesen says that “it is also useful to reverse the process so that you practice both the new word and their synonyms” (page 22).&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;strong&gt;&lt;em&gt;Learn words from old TOEFLs&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/em&gt;&lt;/strong&gt;Matthiesen advices that many words on previous TOEFL tests are sometimes tested again, “but they frequently appear among the four choices presented as synonyms for new words that are tested”.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;strong&gt;&lt;em&gt;Learn words from Essential Words for the TOEFL, Third Edition&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/em&gt;&lt;/strong&gt;Matthiesen suggests including all words listed in the book on the cards and lists. To learn prefixes, suffixes, and word roots we can see Chapter 4 of the book in reference.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;strong&gt;&lt;em&gt;Learn to use a Thesaurus&lt;/em&gt;&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;br /&gt;“A thesaurus is a dictionary of synonyms”. On the other hand the thesaurus can be build by us. The use of an English language dictionary can be useful for the purpose. Katheleen Mahnke &amp; Carolyne B. Duffy’s TOEFL Preparation Course (Heinemann Edition, 1996). The authors suggest some tips to study in a better way for the TOEFL. Most often reading passages on the TOEFL give information in an objective way, and the author’s point of view is neutral. The tone of these passages is informational. However, in some passages the author may express how he or she feels about the topic, the ideas, or the issues that he or she has written about. In these passages you should look for words that show an emotion or a strong point of view. We invited teachers from Hidalgo and D.F. Fortunately they accepted the invitation and as we say in Mexico "One guest invites another guest", we were 147 teachers at an Academic Party! (80% government, 20% private). 25 municipalities, 9 institutions with academic participations (DESGVM, C.M. Coacalco, ENE-DF, UNAM FES Acatlán y FES Aragón, IPN CELEX-Zacatanco, The Anglo Mexican Foundation, Academia Maddox, MACMILLAN). We also want to thanks Centro de Maestros Coacalco, Oxford University Press, and Editorial MACMILLAN for their participation as expositors.&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div align="left"&gt;&lt;div align="left"&gt;&lt;span style="font-size:85%;color:#660000;"&gt;&lt;strong&gt;&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;div align="justify"&gt;&lt;span style="font-size:85%;color:#660000;"&gt;&lt;strong&gt;There was an inaugural conference by Teacher Jeannette Ojeda Carvajal who made teachers applaud, dance, and laugh.
